Human Resources Development Tools
Koru Life Balance uses (a combination of) the following assessment tools while
focusing on relevant development goals.
Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ)
The 'competence set of the
workplace' of SHL, the publisher of the OPQ assessment inventory, is used
worldwide. It will help the assessed client to establish what are the needs of
the organisation, the natural preferences of the client and the development
issues.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) / ALTI
The MBTI test is more like a
interpersonal development instrument. It is based on the personality type theory
of the Swiss psychoanalyst Dr. C.G. Jung. This test is used worldwide to give
individuals, teams and organisations great opportunities for development. At
Koru Life Balance, we use the next generation test module: the ALTI test.

ODIN Development Compass (ODC®)
This state-of-the art assessment tool is the next stage after the MBTI
Personality test. It will support the client with more insight about
personal development issues and is most likely the real start of a
coaching process. The on-line assessment is based on the body of thought
of Dr. C.G. Jung and his Type Psychology. Its results are best used to
assist people's understanding of their strengths, areas for development
and preferences that will effect the roles they are suitable for and
should enjoy. During and after the coaching process, which usually takes
about 12 sessions of one and a half hour, people are able to make better
choices about career change and personal development. Better choices
result in benefits for all involved. Huge interpersonal improvements can
be reached like more joy and better energy flow in work and life, less
stress and better relationships with people at work and at home. Koru
Life Balance Consultants also use the ODC® for organisational change
development issues.

Belbin Team Role Analysis Test
The team-role theory of Dr. Meredith Belbin was based on extensive research and observation of managers. From this, 9 successful clusters of behaviour were identified.
 |
3 Action (Hands) oriented team roles - Shaper, Implementer and Completer Finisher |
 |
3 People (Heart) oriented team roles - Co-ordinator, Teamworker and Resource Investigator |
 |
3 Cerebral (Head) oriented team roles - Plant, Monitor Evaluator and Specialist. |
By using Belbin's questionnaire teams can find out their behavioural tendencies and adjust roles, behaviours or members accordingly. We often use this test for teambuilding purposes.
The Belbin Test can be done individually as well as in a team setting.
Develop
1656, 'unroll, unfold,' from Fr. developper, replacing Eng. disvelop (1592, from
M.Fr. desveloper), both from O.Fr. desveloper, from des- 'undo' + 'veloper' 'wrap
up,' of uncertain origin, possibly Celt. or Gmc. Modern figurative use is 18c.
The photographic sense is from 1845; the real estate sense is from 1890.
Development first attested 1756.
